Civil Engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields. Civil engineering focuses on the design, construction and maintenance of the infrastructure of the world which includes water works, dams, power plants, railroads, highways, bridges, canals, mass transit, industrial plant buildings, skyscrapers, etc. In doing so, civil engineers quietly shape the history of nations around the world. Most people can not imagine life with out the many contributions of civil engineers to the public’s health, safety and standard of living.
